Good morning,
I am new to this list and I have questions. My ancestral families were German, of the Lutheran confession and they emigrated from places within modern-day Poland.
I am seeking advice on how to find additional information on my Krüger ancestors. I have located the emigrating family and their children in the church books for Witkowo (Grand Duchy Poznan). The marriage record (1830) indicates that that Daniel Krüger was deceased and that he was a farmer in Trocken Hauland in Poland. From my research, Trocken Hauland was founded in the 1770s, lies approx 7 km from Sompolno and is known as Pogorzele. To date I have searched for the death of Daniel Krüger (prior to 1830) and the birth of his son Christoph (1798) on various Polish genealogical databases, an online database for the evangelical parish at Babiak and in the local Roman Catholic church registers (ie Lubstów, Lubstówek, Mąkolno) online at the Poznan archives - without success. There were very few Lutheran churches in the area at that time. I do not know when the family first moved to Trocken Hauland / Pogorzele.
Can anyone give me some suggestions for further research?
