Pabianice, 6 Feb 1859, Jakób Gildner age 32 from Grodzisko, declares that his child (male) was born on 5 Feb at 7 am in Grodzisko, mother Luiza Leiman age 30, they named him Edward, witness and godfather Jan Gildner age 38, godmother Elżbieta (Elizabeth) Bedinger?

Father and godparents profession was 'okupnik' which was one of the form of being a farmer, he did not own the land, but he worked and paid a form of a "rent" for his land. Sorry I am not able to find the equivalent for this world in English, maybe you can try to find the real meaning on English forums.

The witness (Jan Gildner) is likely an older brother to Jacob ? Perhaps the Marriage record for Jan will provide parents to Jan and Jacob ?

They may be related, Jan and Jacob, but you need to look for death record of Piotr and Dorota, maybe there Jacob declared their death as their son...so you will have proof they were related...

As I wrote you above in PS unfortunately it doesn't look like death record of Peter (father). Records above 1860 were not transcribed yet, have you tried to look for death record yourself in folders posted on metryki?

I might have found death record of Jakob, but wife mentioned on this record is Paulina, so or it is not yours, or he remarried. Unfortunately not all years have indexes at the end of each year, you will have to look for (possible second marriage, death of first wife) picture by picture.

W Anglii bardzo powszechnie używane miano, bo wiekszość farmerów była własnie 'okupnikami' u lordów.
Właściwe określenie; tenant farmer.
