Hello,
Zgierz 30.08.1873 10 am Roman Catholic parish
Witnesses Fryderyk Robert and Adam Teclaw, adults, townsmen from Zgierz, stated that this night at midnight died widow after clothier, Joanna Stolarska born Lechelt, aged 49, born in Aleksandrów, daughter of unknown parents.
Signed only by the priest.
I did some quick looking up and I think Joanna might have been Wilhelm's half sister.
Dorothea Lechelt born Miller aged 27 died on 8 March 1828; #31 1828 Aleksandrów Evangelical parish.
She left widowed Jan Lechelt.
Joanna's marriage certificate with Felix Stolarski: #2 1848 in Roman Catholic parish Aleksandrów; she was 19 at the time of her marriage in 1848, born and living in Aleksandrów and she was the daughter of Jan Lechelt and Józefa born Hoffman.
I also found Joanna Lechelt was born on 3 July 1829; # 46 1829 Aleksandrów Roman Catholic parish of Jan Lechelt aged 30 and his wife Józefa Hoffman aged 24.
I suspect widower lutheran Jan might have married a catholic, this would explain the change of parishes.

hello Nika,
I can't thank you enough. I was through already the records for 1828 in Aleksandrów. I did not see the death record for Dorothea when I specifically looking for it. I think you are right, Joanna is likely a half sister to Wilhelm.
Now with Dorothea's death 8 Mar 1828, and then the birth of Joanna July 1829, the second marriage for Jan has to be late 1828 in Aleksandrów, either Catholic or Lutheran.
I found this one that looks promising. It has Widow in there, Jan and Józefa (fingers crossed)

Here, with out your help, I would likely have never found this for I had already been through 1828 and did not find these the first time through.
Pozdrawiam,
Yvette

Hi,
This is a marriage certificate of Jan Lechelt and Józefa Lawendowska.
14.10.1828 5 pm Aleksandrów Ev. parish
In the presence of witnesses: Gottlieb Weys tenant aged 33 and Ignacy Kamiński, shoemaker aged 28 a marriage took place between
Jan Lechelt widower wheelwright aged 29, son of Gottlob and Anna Rozyna Pfayfer born in Bentzin, mother deceased, father living here together with son
and Józefa Lewandowska, catholic, maiden, aged 22, born in Kuchary daughter of Andrzej and Katarzyna Lewandowski, worker, living here
3 banns
Signed by pastor
Although the name is different I would believe this is the same person as Józefa Hoffman.
Maybe her mother's maiden name was Hoffman. I have seen this kind of substitution of names in my tree.
Besides, people were illiterate, and the priest or pastor often wrote notes and the act itself later on.
Annexes are not available online, but are available in Archiwum Państwowe Łódź.
http://baza.archiwa.gov.pl/sezam/pradzi ... ksandr%F3w
Take into consideration the death certificate of Józefa Lechelt #53 1852 Aleksandrów RC parish, where Feliks Stolarski was one of the witnesses of the death of Józefa Lechelt born Lewandowska aged 45, who left widowed Jan Lechelt.

Yaaaay !!!! I think we got it.
I cant thank you enough. I think maybe Wilhelm and Wilhelmina may have switched to Roman C as well. This might explain why I could never find their death records (deceased in Drzewica) nor the birth records of children Jan (born about 1852), Paulina Emilia (born abt. 1855) and Jan Julius (born abt. 1861)
I now have a new path to search
Much thanks to your help

Hello,
I think the problem is that the Lutheran church books for Wiskitki for that period are not available in Polish archives. Only some limited annexes for marriage can be found.
You might want to write to Evangelisches Zentralarchiv in Berlin http://www.ezab.de/english/index.html
or Żyrardów Lutheran parish that evolved from Wiskitki parish
zyrardow@luteranie.pl
The history of settlers in Wiskitki area is here (in Polish).
http://www.krzemieniewo.net/viewpage.php?page_id=659
Are you sure your ancestors lived in Drzewica and not Drzewicz? Drzewicz, now Nowy Drzewicz and Stary Drzewicz, is just few miles from Wiskitki and Oryszew, parish Wiskitki, and Drzewica is farther away.

Witam,
I have found the following records which I think are related Lechelt/Milke - Kühn
Kühn is a new surname for me so I am still learning to Recognize it - If either of the following are Not mother = - Kühn then all I need is not a Milke/- Kühn record
If parents are Jan Milke and mother = Kühn - then I would really appreciate help with the translation.

Very excited about this find! I bet you didn't notice
I will need help though to get a translation on this one once again.
Is in scan # 18 and Scan #19
