Powiat Ozmiana 1920 1939
Hello All,
Does anybody know if and where we can get access to the acts (birth, deaths) of the Powiat Ozmiana during the polish period 1920/1939 ??
Ozmiana was ~ 40 km East from Wilno. Now Belarus.
Many thanks in advance
Bernard

hello All,
I am looking specifically for the Gmina Zabrzezie (today Zabrzez ?)
Apparently it was Powiat Ozmania till 1920, and Powiat Wolozynski between 1920 and 1939.

Bernard, is it Zabrzezie (Zabrzeź) 50km SE from Oszmiana and 15km NW from Wołożyn, this one?:
https://www.google.pl/maps/place/Zabrez ... 26.4519024
In that case I guess you should look for Zabrzezie 'Świętej Trójcy' Parish records. It was part of Wiszniew Deanary.
Here are the films from FamilySearch for that parish:

Hello Lukasz,
Hello,
@ Lukasz.
Many thanks.
Yes. This is the right place of Zabrzezie.
I am looking for death records from 1931 till 1939, Or later....
This is the place where the great grandmother of my wife moved end of 1931. She was ~ 80 years old when she moved.
She probably died there.
I will try to get something from your link to family search.
@Mariusz,
Many thanks also. I need the help of a cousin, I do not speak polish...
Best regards
Bernard

Bernard, you will not find death records after 1900 in FamilySearch link that I provided. I think it can be found only in some archival institution in Belarus.Tkaczuk1 pisze:Hello Lukasz,

Are you looking only for her death record or maybe also for marriage/birth records? Do you know more about her? What was her name and surnames (maiden and after marriage)? Who was her husband and where did they lived before Zabrzezie? Do you know names of their children and where they were born?
Lukasz

Re: Powiat Ozmiana 1920 1939
Hello ,
my grandgrandparents ( Antoni Ryśnik and Wiktoria Ryśnik from Skadorwa ) died in Zabrzezie in this period i think too and I don't have documents for it. My grandfather was born in 1910 in Jasieniszki church Zabrzezie. I found in Metrical books their oldest son Adam in 1894 . It should be the third son Wincenty yet.
I would be greatful for any informations.
regards
Małgorzata Łopacińska ( Ryśnik ).

Re: Powiat Ozmiana 1920 1939
Hello Lukasz,
Thank you for your response.
Here are the confirmed data we have about the great granmother of my wife.
She is Marja Kalucka, born Bugleska or Bugloszcz. She is born 1851 in Poland, powiat Opatowski.
Her husband died in Chisinau early 1922.
She lived in Vilnius between 1922 and 1931 with one of her daughter. This daughter moved to France end of 1931.
But Marja did not follow her and end of 1931, she moved to Zabrzezie, as clearly indicated on the documents we have.
Because she was ~ 80 years old when she moved to Zabrzezie, she may have died there the following years.
So we search the death record only.
We have an additional information, which is only verbal, and not confirmed at all.
She may have joined in Zabrzezie another daughter, Barbara Kalucka, who was married with a M. Stasilowicz.
But we have no other information about these Stasilowicz....
This is all I can explain. We have nothing else.
Indeed the official archive in Belarus may have data. Can I contact them by mail in English ???
Best regards
Bernard
