I am looking for the 19th century Maracewicz line. Polish general (involved in an uprising against the Russians) Maracewicz (don't know first name) had a daughter Bronislawa Maracewicz who married into the Zubietov family. I have not been able to find anything on the Maracewicz family. These people are my gr-gr-gr-grandparents.
Thank you for any help or suggestions.

Hi Hanna,
Your family surname is rare in Poland, and it might be decisive in this search, according to best etymologist from Poland Prof. K. Rymut from the Istitute of the Polish Language PAN in Krakow, and according to his works there were in 1990 Poland (source: www.herby.com.pl):
Nazwisko Ogolna liczba Rozmieszczenie
Surname ; Totally in Poland ; Location-main Polish town/old province:
Maracewicz 41 Wa:8, El:2, Gd:13, Kl:1, Ka:4, Lg:12, NS:1
= There were only 41 adults in 1990 Poland with the surname MARACEWICZ, and from few parts of the country.
This surname seems has Lithuanian roots. Worth to note in Polish internet we can find the website of the family MARACEWICZ!: http://www.maracewiczowie.waw.pl/5901.html
From their website: their oldest ancestor noted by them is Teodor MARACEWICZ and his fater, Teodor was born in 1820 in Niemirow, old Poland, now as independent Lithuania, his father was Nikifor.
My cordial advice would be for you to contact this family MARACEWICZ in Poland, their email address is:
info@maracewiczowie.waw.pl
Hope this helps a little,
Good luck to you in your wonderful search,
