Cześć, potrzebuję dowodu, że mój pradziadek mieszkał w Łodzi przed 1918 rokiem, aby ewentualnie ubiegać się o polskie obywatelstwo, kiedy wyjechał wcześniej. Mogą to być akta mieszkaniowe lub wybory. Czy ktoś wie, gdzie szukać lub może pomóc? Nazywa się Chaim Grynbaum i jego rodzice Josek Maier i Blima Ryvka urodzeni Taitlowicz. Urodził się w 1896 roku. Próbowałem szukać na szukajwarchiwach.pl, ale nie miałem szczęścia w Łódzkich Kartach Mieszkalnych.

Przypuszczam, ze chodzi o dokumenty dotyczące Twego pradziadka po 1918 roku, a nie przed 1918. Jeżeli jest Ci łatwiej, to pisz w dwóch wersjach językowych, po angielsku i po polsku.

Zakładam, że chodzi o potwierdzenie obywatelstwo polskiego. Linki do dokumentów, które podano powyżej są będę bardzo pomocne w Twoich poszukiwaniach.

I was going to respond to everyone individually but this site is quite slow on my phone. My Chaim immigrated to Germany around 1918 and married a German in 1919. The posts with him living in Bottrop are correct. He died in Holland 1947. The one who was in the Lodz ghetto who died with the exact same birthdate is somehow a different one (I’ve seen this before as well). Also the Chaim who lived in Lodz with a Yosef and Bluma isn’t him either I investigated this on yadvashem and his son has a testimonial on there. I would go into more detail but my keyboard is broken and it’s hard on my phone.

Also Michael since my Chaim left Lodz before Poland was a country I have to prove he had a residence there which entitled him to citizenship based on the Treaty of Riga. Even though he was registered in Germany as a Pole since I don’t have Polish documentation I can’t prove it and they won’t accept German. Understandably, but it’s a mess.

You are saying that Jozef and Bluma listed above are not the parents of your Chaim. Could you let us know what the marriage certificate for Chaim says? What is his date/place of birth and parents' names in the marriage certificate? Does the marriage cert show where his parents were living at that time?

I do not know why you think that a Treat of Riga will work for you.

Hi I looked over the Chaim I saw at yadvashem and I think it maybe a different one and I made a mistake. Now I will say that Chaims mom is listed as Bluma G Teitlowicz and not a Blima Ryvka Taitlowicz obviously last names are close enough but the G listed as a middle name is odd. Also Alter is listed as Alter Grinbaum on Jewishgen and mine is a Grynbaum but again close. I did find on JewishGen a marriage of a Josek Majer Grynbaum and Blima Ryvka Fajtliowicz in 1894 recorded in Lodz which could be the same ppl as on the Population list. Or it could be my Chaims parents.

On his marriage it says he was born Dec 16/1896 in Lodz to Yosek Maier Grynbaum and Blima Ryvka Taitlowicz. It also says they’re residents of Lodz. Obviously there’s coincidences but I need to be sure.

Also I have a German document stating a correspondence from the Polish Consulate in Essen (1931) that my great grandfather was a Polish citizen based on Article VI of the Treaty of Riga as a former resident of the Kingdom of Poland. My grandmother born in Germany also a citizen and that they were listed as Polish nationals. Problem is I don’t have any Polish documents stating this so I have to prove citizenship all over from the beginning and have to prove Chaim was a resident of the Kingdom of Poland and entitled to citizenship.
