He was born in Kiebel (Keblowo), Poland on May, 30th 1878. His last residence was either Rollinghausen or Recklinghausen Germany. According to the records at www.ellisisland .org it appears that he came over with two friends.
The only Skoropinski that I have been able to find in Europe was a Ludwig Skoropinski (born on August 8th, 1911. He was transferred to the Mauthausen concentration camp on March 7th, 1940 from the Buchenwald concentration camp. That is all we have been able to find out after researching since 1975.

My Grandmother's maiden name was Nowakowski or Novakowski. Not really any info on her other than it appears that her parents were Nicodem (Nicholas) Nowakowski (ca.1860-1931),born in Gubin, Borussia (Prussian occupied Poland) and Apolonia (Pauline) Jasinska (1870-1937), daughter of John and Katarzyna Jaszinski. She was born in Thorn, Posnan. They immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1886 and eventually settled in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Washington, Virginia, and elsewhere.
I suppose also that my last name might have been changed from "Skorupinski" to "Skoropinski" once in the past by some mistake but I am not sure about it.
