"MARCHIEL family search"

I dont speak Polish but I am searching for family info.

Waclaw MARCHIEL born July 24, 1906 in Grodzisk. His father is Wincenty MARCHIEL and his mother is Rozalia CHODORSKA.

Waclaw served in the British Army until emigrating to Canada in 1948.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Janice,
You need to know that Grodzisk is quite popular place name in Poland . Propably the most popular are Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Grodzisk Wielkopolski
But Grodzisk where Wacław was born is situated in parochia Suchowola (that`s my opinion), in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. Am i right ?

I do not know English well. Grodzisk was in the Suchowola parish. Registers are available on the Internet from 1808-1864. From 1865, the records can be found in the Diocesan Archives in Bialystok. From 1849, the records were written in Russian.

Census records were not conducted in the period you are interested in in that form as in US. The most easy way to find any info of your ancestors would be to check vital records in Archdiocesan Archive in Białystok. This is the only place, they are located for Suchowola parish for period after 1865. Unfortunately not available online.
