There is one good way to make sure, whose the wedding is, who is a groom. Need to enlarge the face of a young man, sitting in the middle of first row, on the family photo and compare it with the photo of Anthony.MikMak pisze:What advice ?
And we shall know who is a groom -Ignacy or Antoni.
P.S.When died Jan,maybe before wedding of Ignacy?
I put several photos in Picassa album where I have enlarged faces of different members of the photo's family.
I have also put a photo of my grandfather in 1960, he looked like the young boy behind the groom.
From both Marianna and Stanislawa' photos, it seems we can recognize them just behind the groom (next to the young boy with hat). What do you think about this proposal ?
If it's the Antoni's marriage (1923) then Marianna was 21, Stanislawa 24, my grandfather 18 and Jan 14. If it's Ignacy's marriage (1914 by hypothesis because he died during the war WWI) then Marianna was 12, Stanislawa 15, Szczepan 9 and Jan 5.
Jan was alive in 1976 and he was born in 1909.

I've long time looked at your family photo and at the other photos.I think the groom isn't Anthony and the bride is not alike his wife.
Two girls close your grandfather aren't his sisters.
One is doughter of old woman who is staying at left side(they are very much alike) , the second girl or rather young woman, is old
than 15.
On my mind Marianna is staying behind the groom(Ignacy?) and Stanislawa is staying behind groom's father. The man,who is by the wall on right side,
is very alike Anthony. The man staying next to Stanislawa could be younger brother of the groom's father ,he is very alike him. I think he lived at town.
Well ,I can say it's Ignacy's wedding.Your grandfather is staying behind
the groom.
The wedding took place before IWW.
The smile your grandfather's was not changed from childness.
...But where is Jan?

Łucjo, po długim analizowaniu podobienstw osób z fotogr. rodzinnej Jerome, jestem pewny ,że jest to zdjęcie ślubne
Ignacego, czyli zostało wykonane przed I wojną św. tj w 1914 roku.
Zatem składam gratulacje dla ekspertki z Gdanska, Lili Molenda,która bezbłednie datowała
fotografię.
Pozdrawiam

Zygmunt,
I think you are right about Antoni (he was 17), I think he is next to the wall on right side. But about my grandfather's sisters I have a doubt because when I watch the Stanislawa's photo on Picassa (photo where she is alone), she has the same face's characteristics that the girl behind my grandfather (mouth, ears, lips...). I also hesitated with the girl next to Antoni (right side close to the wall). On this photo Antoni was 17 and the girl close to him could be 15 or upper. The girl behind groom's father is younger and not seem to be 15 years old. These two girls are wearing alike. It seems these girls are sisters.
It's the same thing for the girls close to my grandfather with her strings of pearls.....

Do you noticed the old woman( on the left side) has string of pearls too?
Who is this old woman? She is the mother of two young girls and...your grandfather ?
In Poland a wife stands always next to her husband.
Can you show Jan's photo - mysterious your grandfather's brother?
Zygmunt
P.S.
World is small !!! My close neighbour was born in the same parish like your grandfather. I've today found about it . He knows all the villages.
I live 500 km from Wolsztyn!

It seems you are right, I often think that this little girl could be a little boy. Morever the man beside her could be is father and the Ignacy's father. I remember when I was young that my grandmother from Poland told me that it was usual to dress little boys like little girls. Do you confirm that ? was it the case in Poland ?
About the woman with the string of pearls I don't know who is she ?
Another information : both the grandfather and the grandmother of Ignacy died before is birth

Are you sure? I'ts improbable information.
The old sitting men are very alike each other.
There are one more option: the old people sitting are parents and grandparents of bride, and two old people on the left side are parents of Ignacy ,Anthony, your grandfather,Stanislawa,Marianna and Jan.
But why Jan is next to strange people. Jan could be brave child. Littlle child-5 years-next to the stranger man? The man not cuddle up to child, maybe he is not father this little boy?
Your information maybe true.Yes,a long time ago at village, little children were weared the same cloths, boys and girls

From microfilm I found that the Ignacy's grandfather died in 1888 (he was born in 1814) and his grandmother died in 1894 (she was born in 1824). The Ignacy's father was born in 1868 and was the last children (8). Perhaps the two old men sitting are brother ?bezet pisze:MikMak pisze: Another information : both the grandfather and the grandmother of Ignacy died before is birth

If we look the picture I think this is the groom's family on the rigth and the bride's family on the left.
The wedding was probably at a village in Poland (1925).MikMak pisze:about photo number 2 I don't know because I cannot say if the photo has taken in 1925 in Poland or in Germany ?
what is your opinion about that ? (if Jan is present it was 16).
About the photo 7, how can you say the man could be Jan ?
Until IIWW at this territory of Poland lived Germans and Poles together
as the neighbours in villages. The wedding was in Poland but in German family, because on the plate they wrote "wedding" in German language-Hochzeit.
I think the bride and the groom were Pole and German or parents of young just married were good neighbours of Polish people and the Poles could be at this wedding as good neighbours of Germans.
On this photo (nr 2) the boy (ca 16) is alike to little boy(child on the family photo) and to man on the foto nr 7. Look at the child and at the boy with an optical glass enlarge ( I can't find correct ward) the photo-you will see similarity(likeness). I think that is the same person.
