Baza nazwisk niemieckich osadników i ich potomków w Polsce

As I know, the surname "Bruchacki" derives from the German surname "Bruch". May be you can help me in my research as I am interested in the history of the Bruchacki family:since when the German settlers "Bruch" appeared in Poland or since when the surname "Bruch" changed to "Bruchacki".

The person named Franz/Franc? Bruch/Bruh? is in my family tree. His wife was born in 1891 in a village near Piotrków Trybunalski.
I will try to give more details soon.

As I know, there are many families which derive from the first one - the Bruch family. So we have Bruch, Bruchacki, Bruchalski and so on. I found the first surname Bruchacki from 1819. For me, it's very interesting to discover how the original surname became all those surnames I wrote earlier. So I am looking for documents explaining this process. May be we can research it together.

To be able to help you we need as much of the following information as possible:

1.) names and first names of your parents, grandparents, etc.,
2.) the exact locations in Poland/Ukraine where they were born, married and died.
3.) their birth, marriage and death dates
4.) their religion
5.) their social status as well as their professions.

Thank you for your readiness to help!
Everything I know about the family I am interested in is:

1. My grandfather's name was Antoni Bruchacki. His father's and mother's name were Jeremia and Pelagia. He leaved Poland for Ukraine as his sisters Zofia and Katerina did too. His brother Mykolaj (?) stayed in Poland with his family.

2. My grandfather was born in Hrubieszow in 1903 (09.05.1903) and died in Ukraine in 1976.

3. I don't know anything about their religion and their social status (that is I am interested in and how and when they became "Bruchacki").

I'll be very grateful to you if you can help me to find some sourcεs which will help in my research.

I live in Crete - the biggest Greek island which is quite far from Athens.

Generally, to determine the exact lineage of your ancestors you should start your research with yourself and go backward by generation as far back as you can. To do that, you will need (to try) to get their vital records. (birth, marriage and death certificates) However, knowing the exact location and religion someone practiced is of prime importance, because the church’s books and old civil records are\were ordered and stored in the archives accordingly to the given parishes and religions. (Roman Catholic, Greek Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Jewish, etc.)

Now. Assuming that you are a Roman Catholic, it is highly likely your father and gfather were a Roman Catholic, too. So what is your religion?

If you were born in Ukraine, (let me guess…… at Kyiv

) it is possible that your father also was born and perhaps got married there.
Where exactly was born your father? Where did he get married?

Do you have any documents as to where he, or anybody else in your family, was born, married and died?

Obtaining Anotni’s birth certificate, (the ticket to your future ancestral journey) depends on his religion.
Find out his religion, and you will get the ticket.

Worth to remember.
Even a tiniest piece of info can make a huge difference in your research.

I am very grateful to you, as to Maria and all these people who helped me in my research!

I think all of us want the easiest way: I mean the on-line research - very useful, easy and cheep, but we should realize that if we are really interested in the history of our family, the research will be more deeper and painful.
I am happy that during my research, I "met" many patriots of their country, which history is their own history so that's why these people help everybody wants to discover his roots.

in my family tree was FRANZ BRUCH. But his full name was Brucheiser, not Bruchacki.

Genealogical research is very interesting but sometimes complicated too: a few days ago I read (in Russian) that the surname "Bruchacki" derrives from the Jewish name "Boruch"... It seems that the best way to find out the information someone is interested in is contacting with the Polish Archives (as Maria and Gospel showed me and I am going to do).

In my opinion, surname Bruchacki comes from town Bruch.In France, in Germany and in Czech Republik was
small town BRUCH(now LOM). But only in Czech language ,you can make surname Bruchacky/i .This surname perhaps is Jewish
-in Czech language,but may be Czech noble surname too.You can check it. Town BRUCH in Czech Republik currently has name LOM -small town is next to Litvinov, in north west from PRAHA.This is in county Most-community Litvinov-Czech Republik..

Actually, I've often met the word "bruchacky" (in Czech) during my "rambles" in the Internet pages, but I don't know the meaning. May be, it's a good idea to approach the Czech genealogical forums to find out some more information.
