Trying to find family

I'm looking for the Surdel connection to my family. My great grandmother, Helen Surdel was born March 16, 1894 and last lived in Zawadka, Galicy, according to the ship manifest when she came to the US in 1909. Her father(who remained in Zawadka) is listed as Jedrej Surdel, I don't know her mother's name. I've been told her father was shot and killed a few years after she left, but I don't know if that's true.
Helen's sister, Agata Surdel was born in 1893 and last lived in Zawadka, Galicy. She immigrated October 1913 and her ship manifest says her father was Andrej Surdel from Zawadka, Galicy.
Both Helen and Agata ended up in Connecticut, but I'm unable to find any information about their mother(s?) or father(s?) in Poland.
I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Please read carefully available metrics online, the same parents had doughter named also Helena (born 1892), which died at age 1 year.

You can try to contact parish by e-mail: parafiabrzostek@gmail.com, they have metric books starting from 1784, older ones probebly are missing. For Brzostek itself as property of benedictines from Tyniec there are a lot of material (including list of inhabitants etc) starting from 1405 (Akta sądu leńskiego wyższego w Gródku Goleskim 1405-1546, it is available online).
