Piotr Wojtowicz z Legnica

I need help with finding the origins of Piotr Wojtowicz who died in december 1971 and his wife Maria (surname unknown).

One of their children was Ignacy Wojtowicz who was born in 1917 in Rabka so i think Piotr Wojtowicz was born around the year 1900.

My grandma said they (Piotr and Maria) always told her that they came from Legnica

When i searched the surname Wojtowicz it gave me 0 results in the Dolnoslaskie category through genesuckacz. I also tried to search the german variant of the surname which is Vogt but i´m not sure if any of these people might have been Piotr. I need someone to tell me how to find him since it seems impossible.

I would suggest obtaining a copy of Piotr's death certificate.

Rabka is a town in Małopolska voivodship (Rabka-Zdrój parish), it is indexed, Ignacy is not there (maybe his birth certificate is in a town not indexed - no books? - but belonging to Rabka-Zdrój parish)

There are several Piotr Wojtowiczs, but, none of them seems to fit:

We found out that it is Grzybiany, Legnica through the brother of my grandma who remembered it. The german name of it was Greibnig I think. We contacted the priest and he will tell us tomorrow if he found the names in the books from there.

(update) we had to contact the archives of Legnica since old church books don't seem to be in Grzybany

(update 30-7-2024) The archives found out my that my relatives didn't originate from Legnica but Chabowka, the story my grandma told me wasn't true. They apparently got assigned to a farm in Legnica after the second world war and later returned back to Chabowka. It seems that Maria Wojtowicz was born in Budapest Hungary on 15-03-1900 and piotr wojtowicz (probably in chabowka) in 1884
