Johann Szczupaczkiewicz, chancellor magistrate in Lwow

Post autor: nemethova6 »

Hi everyone!

I apologize for writing in english.
I am looking for info about an ancestor of mine, Johannes Szczupaczkiewicz, he was born I suppose between 1756 and 1764 in Lwow, Pikulowice or Wola Wysocka. He studied at university there and later became chancellor magistrate. He married Tekla Krakus in 1795 and soon had children, I am still looking for info about his death and birth but also any other information. Could you please give me some tips where to look?
Thank you in advance :)

Johann Szczupaczkiewicz, chancellor magistrate in Lwow

Hi. I found a Jan Szczupaczkiewicz who died on the first and was buried on the second of August, 1855 in Żółkiew, I believe it says of Cholera (disease), aged 20 (born in 1835).. could he be of any relation to your John?
As this is from the 18th century, documents are extremely limited online, especially Ukrainian documents on a Polish website, so if you would know more precisely where these children could have been born, I strongly recommend calling the Archives in that region as they may contain documents for your ancestor's children.

From their marriage act, January the 17th, 1795, John is aged 30 (b. 1765, in this case) and Anna the same, 30.
John was from Pikulowice, possibly where he was born, as for Anna the handwriting is quite illegible, so I can't decipher where she's from.. Hope this helps.
Kind Regards, Wojciech

Hi, thank you very much. This other Jan must be his grandson, he had many children so as to who are the parents I am not currently sure but I will look. Thanks again and I might try to reach to those archives :)

I don’t see any Jan Szczupaczkiewicz being a chancellor magistrate in Lwów (I don’t even know what that would mean). There was only Jan Szczupaczkiewicz, the clerk of the municipal office in Żółkiew (kancelista magistratu w Żółkwi), who died in 1834 at the age of 50. He was a Greek Catholic.

Hi, thank you very much, the death record would really be my ancestors. About the chancellor magistrate, it is as written in some of his documents, though I later discovered it is not the exact position :)
