Difficult hesitation

Post autor: avilove »

hi
Here is a marriage certificate, MINTZ Perla 1852 M 70 Warsaw
https://skanoteka.genealodzy.pl/index.p ... 545&zoom=1

she was born in Drzewica
I am in a dilemma,
Was Perel Mintz's father called Yaakov or Avraham Yaakov
Because we have a death certificate of Yaakov in year 1847
MINTZ Jankiel 1847 D 52
https://metryki.genealodzy.pl/index.php ... 49-054.jpg

and it appears that he had a daughter, Perel, and Avraham and more. but, he was eighty years old in 1847 when he died
This means that Perel, who was born in 1833 and married at the age of 19 in 1852, was born when her father was sixty-six,
I would be happy to enlighten
thanks

I read that Perla's father had two names: Abraham Jankiel.
I would suggest finding Perla's birth certificate.
Pozdrawiam.

Thanks for the response
I searched and couldn't find Pearl's birth certificate,
Question, does it say Avraham Yaakov or Yuval
While on her father Yaakov's death certificates it appears that he had a son Avraham, and a daughter Peril

There are other children born to Jakob/Jankiel (trader) and Szymcha in Drzewica. For example In 1828 they have a son Maier Leib and father’s age is 51, mother’s 40. My guess is Jakob’s age at the time of his death was about 70 not 80.

Best regards,
Marzena

In the marriage record, the name is Abraham Jukiel Mintz. In the death record, the name is Jukiel Mintz. The name Jukiel is apparently a diminutive of the name Ya'akov (Jacob/Jakob).

"Hello everyone,

I am researching the family of Pearl Mintz and her siblings, and I have run into a point of confusion regarding her father's name and identity. I would appreciate your insight on two specific points:

1. The "Abraham" Identity Puzzle

Death Record (1847): A record for a man named Yokel states he passed away, leaving a widow, Simcha, and children: Pearl, Abraham, Nathan, Yechiel, and Menashe.

Marriage Records: When Pearl (m. 1852) and Menashe married, both of their certificates list their father’s name as Abraham Yokel.

My Question: In the 1847 death record, is 'Abraham' listed as a son? If the father is 'Abraham Yokel,' would he have a son also named 'Abraham' while he was still alive, or is it possible the record is listing the father's full name in a confusing way?

2. The Age Discrepancy
The 1847 death certificate lists Yokel’s age as 80 (born approx. 1767). However, other researchers have suggested his age was intentionally inflated by about a decade in official records.

Given that his children were marrying in the 1850s, a birth year of 1767 seems early.

Does this evidence suggest that 'Abraham' and 'Yokel' are the same person (the father), or should I be looking for a son named Abraham who survived him?"
