Catholic Churches in Schmilowo and Miasteczko Krajenskie

Hello, my name is Claudette Moran, and I am writing to you from Little Falls, Minnesota, USA.While I have yet to go to a family history library to check civil records for birth and marriage records, I want to go another route to check for church records. On behalf of my mother, Joyce Erdman Moran, DOB 04/14/1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, I am trying to do research for the paternal side of her family.My mother is the youngest daughter of Clement Albert Erdman and Fern Irene Sanford. Clem and Fern were married in Minneapolis Minnesota on 07/26/1933. According to a German Police Registration form dated 09/13/1901, Clement Albert Erdman/Erdmann was born in Selgenau, now known as Zelgniewo, Poland on 10/05/1899. His father, Albert John Erdman, was born on 04/24/1859 in Grabau, now known as Grabowno, Poland. His mother, Rosalia Robaczeck, was born on 03/15/1862 in Zbyschwitz/Bischwitz, now known as Huby. All of these villages were near Kolmar/Chodziez. However, although I believe that they attended Catholic Churches, I need to know what is the proper way to write to the churches in Schmilowo and Miasteczko Krajenskie. Do I have someone translate my letter from the English language to the Polish language, and send a donation with my inquiry? The sad part is that this famiuly lost a child, and I have no idea if this child/baby is still buried in either of their parish cemataries. I have email addresses for these two Catholic Churches, along with contact information as well. But, I am looking for feedback from all of you. Thank you. Thank you. I am still trying to learn how to navigate on this web site. If I wanted to search for the Erdmann or Robaczeck surname on the database, am I able to do that? Or, do I still have to write to the churches of St. Margretha and God's Mother Scapular in Schmilowo and Exaltation of the Cross in Miasteczko Krajenskie?

...but Albert John married Rosalia not necessarily before 1886...hmm...Definitely 4AM it's not time form me:(

Yes, according to my great grandfather's death certificate, his birth name was Albert John Erdmann/Erdman, and my great-grandmother's name was Rosalia, americanized to Rosalie. So, thank you so much! Anytime in the 1880's, between 1884 and 1886 is okay. The children were Marta, Maria, Agatha, Franz, Tressa, and Clemens, who was my grandfather. According to the ship manifest when they sailed from Bremen Germany on 09/28/1901, my great-grandfather is listed as Albech Erdmann. I have seen other variations of this surname as Erthmann/Erhtmann as well.

I still have to go to a family history library. I need to request records from the vault. However, I would prefer to contact the priest of these two Catholic Churches for the records too. I want to write a letter to them. Do they still look up records if you send a donation with the letter?

In order for me to actually submit my information on the Poznan Marriage Project, I have to look up the church records in Schmilowo and Miasteczko krajenskie. Marriage records in Schmilowo are completed, and nothing matched there. So, now I await the proof reading for Miasteczko Krajenskie. However, that only leaves to write to the churches, which is the route that I want to go.
