Czyli nazwisko to pisane w obydwu wersjach występuje w okolicach Opatowa. Myślę, że Jan Heba/Cheba mieszkał dość blisko Anieli Szydłowskiej.

Hopefully I am posting a reply to the right forum post. I am having challenges with the page translating for me.

Anna had created a post for me to help further my family research. I have read through the replies and am so incredibly grateful for the time that everyone has taken to reply.

As she mentioned she is up to date with my research so unfortunately I do not have any further details to add at this time. I have recently requested Jan Heba's Naturalization record from Immigration here in Canada and hopefully will receive further information.

My grandfather who was Jan & Aniela's son did not share anything about his parents and everyone was very opposed to talking about anything from Poland. My grandfather's wife had mentioned that she believed that Aniela and her family came from somewhere around Opatow Poland. No one seems to know anything or if they do are unwilling to provide anything.

I have been focusing more of my research on Aniela and her family as I have more documents with information for them and am hoping it will lead me to Jan's family and information.

I have found Canadian documents that say they were both born in Poland but do have one that says Russia. I did also find one document that listed the last know place of residence was Czerwonagon , it was hard to read so spelling might not be right.

Any further suggestions or information is very much appreciated. The language barrier has also posed as quite the challenge.

Our surname was changed from Heba to Hebor in approx 1917 in Toronto Ontario. My grandfather and his brother Peter both have Heba as their surname on birth records.

No to ładnie zaczyna się sobota. Rzuciłem swoim zaspanym okiem na post od Christine, w miarę uważnie przeczytałem nazwę miejsca zachowanego w Kanadzie jako " the last know place of residence was Czerwonagon", czyli podane przez pradziadków miejsce, jak to nazwać, ostatniego pobytu przed emigracją, następnie rzut oka na mapę i chyba to... Czerwona Góra.

A jak Czerwona Góra, to parafia Ruszków A kto zindeksował i sfotografował metryki Ruszkowa? No przecież nasza Święta Kornelia Major i Świętogen!

To ja się teraz zabiorę za jakąś odpowiedź dla Christine w lengwydżu, bo wypada. Spróbuję jej pokazać na mapie i fotografie rodzinnych siedzib i kościołów jej pradziadków Jana Heby i Anieli Szydłowskiej, a więc zapewne Czerwona Góra i rodzinny kościół Ruszków, oraz Gołoszyce i rodzinny kościół Modliborzyce. No jakoś trzeba pokazać piękno ziemi polskiej, a ponadto biegnie tam urokliwy Główny Szlak Świętokrzyski!

A wy "pogrzebcie" w tych parafiach, może coś się uda dalej opisać w historii tej rodziny.

Witajcie,

Sobotę zaczęłam bardzp intensywnie. Ustaliłam telefon do p. Tomasza i zadzwoniłam. Pan Tomek jest obecnie na urlopie mamy się zdzwonić we wtorek. Nasza rozmowa telefoniczna daje nadzieję Wujek p. Tomasza zajmuje się genealogią rodziny Heba jeśli wyrazi zgodę na rozmowę we wtorek zadzwonię . Żyje dziadek p. Tomasza ma 90 lat i bardzo dobrą pamięć i tu liczę na pomoc. Będę próbowała również ustalić telefon do sołtysa z Gołoszyc.

I truly appreciate everyones willingness to share all their knowledge. Not only have I been searching for family I have been searching to understand what my ancestors lives would have been like years ago. My dream one day is to travel and visit Poland!

Last night while going through my grandmother's photos and newspaper clippings I came across some further information. I found an obituary for Aniela's sister Rose who I also have been trying to search for in hopes to uncover more information about Aniela and would lead me to Jan's family.

I was able to find her grave stone online which is actually in the same grave yard as both my great grandparents. It lists her name as Rozaliya Woincek which was her married name from her first marriage in 1926. Her date of birth was listed as Sept 4, 1899 and she died August 29, 1979 in Toronto Ontario. She married for a second time and took the last name of Niewiadomski.

Now it's time to invite you to visit virtually your family ancestral home and lands in Poland. It will take me awhile to read through and understand all of these resources as I am not the greatest with understanding history but am trying my best. I have registered for that website that you mentioned and I have added my first photo which is of my great grandparents along with 3 of their children one of which was my grandfather.

I am hopeful that the naturalization record comes soon and that it has some extra information. I also am going to get some documents from my Uncle this week that were in my grandparents possessions which he has not looked through and I am going to see if there is anything helpful there. My grandmother tended to keep a lot of random things.

My hope is to confirm where they came from and I will be creating a document to share with any other family members that have interest as no one seems to know anything. My grandparents children are getting older oldest is almost 80 so I am hoping to get answers before anyone is no longer here with us.

Działo się we wsi Wszechświęte 5/17 stycznia 1889 r. o godz. 10 rano. Stawili się osobiście Wincenty Heba, lat 30, rolnik ze wsi Grocholice w obecności świadków Tomasza Bryda (?), lat 35 i Stefana Mroczka, lat 36, rolników ze wsi Grocholice i okazał Nam dziecko płci męskiej oświadczając, że urodziło się we wsi Grocholicach 3/15 stycznia bieżącego roku, o godzinie 11 rano, z jego prawowitej żony Ewy z Przysuchów, lat 20. Dziecku temu na chrzcie świętym dokonanym w dniu dzisiejszym dano imię Jan a rodzicami chrzestnymi byli Jakub Gadkowski i Marianna Mroczkowa. Akt ten zgłaszającemu i świadkom niepiśmiennym został przeczytany i podpisany tylko przez Nas, Ks. Jan Nowakowski.

No cóż, nie ma jak praca zbiorowa. Gratulacje dla wszystkich! Podsumujmy na dzisiaj:

Dalej nie jesteśmy pewni daty i miejsca urodzenia pradziadka Jana Heby. Anna kapitalnie znalazła ten wpis z 1889 r z parafii Wszechświęte, Ewa przetłumaczyła i mamy miejsce urodzenia jako Grocholice. Tylko przydałoby się "krzyżowanie" wyników, to znaczy potwierdzenie przez inny wpis np małżeństwa pradziadka Jana Heby i prababci Anieli z domu Szydłowskiej - ale tu mamy zagwozdkę, bo jeśli u prababci Anieli miejsce urodzenia to Gołoszyce, to przepadły gdzieś w otmęcie dziejów zapisy w parafii Modliborzyce. Tu chyba Włodek ma rację, winno się zbadać USC Baćkowice (AP Kielce/Sandomierz?).
Tak przy okazji i a propos tego wpisu z parafii Wszechświęte - Ewa, żona Wincentego Heby była z domu "Przysuchów" - ciekawe nazwisko, sprawdziłem w etymologii Rymuta - nazwisko "Przysuch" notowane w dawnej Polsce, i pośród nazwisk rodzin zamieszkałych w tych Grocholicach.

I ten POB pewnie będzie w Petition for Naturalization (ponieważ imigrant winien był to podać, ale z tym też różnie bywało), na który czeka w Kanadzie Christina - a więc czekamy na skan!

That is interesting that you found this. I can confirm that the document for Helen the baby is in fact the correct family as the marriage certificate also lists the same address for the parents as this death record. I am thinking that the spelling Celoski is yet another way that szydlowski was spelt here in Canada. From what I have read and heard that often names were misspelled because of the language barrier and phonetically this name sounds the same in English as szydlowski would. Thank you for finding this record as although it is another Canadian record only it is helpful to my families story!

I had searched Helen Woincek on family search and the second entry that came up was for Jean Helen Mospan which I know is also their child as I have obituaries confirming these names
