Lydia Zilkoski Caffrey (Olechnowicz)
Caffrey, Lydia Zilkoski
July 18, 2005 Lydia Zilkoski Caffrey, 77, of Liverpool, passed away Monday.
Born in Hazleton, PA, she retired as Dean of Maria Regina College. She
received her bachelor's, master's and PhD from Syracuse University. Lydia was
a communicant and Lay Minis-ter at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, weekly
volunteer at the Samaritan Center, and was a member of the Onondaga County
Mental Health Board. She was predeceased by her husbands, Frank W. Zilkoski in
1982 and Terence P. Caffrey in 1996. Surviving are daughters, Karen (Warner)
Schapley of Endicott, Paula (Joseph) Tardibone of Auburn; sons, Mark (Myrle)
Zilkoski of Wolf Point, MT, David (Pam) Zilkoski of Silver Spring, MD, Michael
Zilkoski of Syracuse; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2
step-grandchildren. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday in Immaculate Heart of
Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Ave., Liverpool. Interment in Assumption Cemetery.
Calling hours 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second
St., Liverpool. Contributions may be made to the Samaritan Center, 310
Montgomery St., Syracuse, NY 13202. Maurer Funeral Home, Inc.
