John, the son of Felix Dende & Alexandra Sosinski died in February 2014.
Frank Dende, 90, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Tuesday at St. Mary's Villa, Elmhurst. His wife of 65 years is the former Helen Kotchick.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Felix and Aleksandria Sosinski Dende. He attended Scranton schools and graduated from West Scranton High School. He was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish at the Sacred Heart of Jesus & Mary Church, Scranton and a member of the former Polka Dot Club of NEPA.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna (Alan) Spealman, Kensington, Md.; and Debra (AJ) Dende-Wanyo, Shillington, Pa.; two sons, Gregory (Arlene), Ithaca, N.Y.; and Frank Paul Dende, Scranton; eight grandchildren, Michael, Jeffrey and Zachary Dende, Kristen, Brendan and Scott Spealman, Alys and Christopher Wanyo; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Landon.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Irene; and three brothers, Alfred, Joseph and Alexander.
Frank was an exceptionally devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid Polka dancer, mechanic, tinkerer and took great pride in his home and maintaining his yard.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Chipak Funeral Home, 343 Madison Ave., Scranton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Paul of the Cross Parish at the Sacred Heart of Jesus & Mary Catholic Church, 1221 Prospect Ave., Scranton, to be celebrated by Msgr.
