I would like to know how can I do to find both the date of death and the burial of my polish oncle who died during the first world war in France. It was enroled in the german army at the begining of the war. I wrote to the Deutsche Dienststelle (WASt) in order to have more information but they answered me that archives were destroyed during the Berlin's bombing in 1945. I also consulted the German War Memorial Websit and the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge but I found nothing. Before the WWI, my oncle lived close to Wilkowo Polskie.

- Is it possible to get informations from the polish army in order to find documents of my oncle incorporation in the german army ? where can I write ?

- Does each town or village in poland has a death memorial like in France where the names of soldiers died during the WWI are written ?

I can help you just a little answering for the 2 question. There aren't such death memorials in Polish towns like in France or UK where the names of dead soldiers are written. Unfortunately I don't know much about WWI genealogical sources but you can try to write to archive in Poznan (archiwum@poznan.ap.gov.pl, http://www.poznan.ap.gov.pl), maybe they will find something for you. But it'd be better if you wait for a post from somebody who knows more about WWI sources.

En 1914/1918 il n'avait pas de l'armée polonaise, donc rien au Centralne Archiwum Wojskowe.
Avec un peu de chance son acte de décès se trouve au archive de Poznan dans la commune de naissance ou commune de dernier domicile.

A może aktu zgonu poszukać w miejscu zameldowania?
Skoro odnaleziono w ten sposób akt zgonu barona von Richhofena, to może i w tym wypadku się uda?

No tak wlasnie napisalam. W miejscu urodzenia lub ostatnim miejscu zamieszkania. W jezyku francuskim nie istnieje ani pojecie, ani obowiazek "zameldowania".

Jérôme, en générale: acte de décès de moins de 100 ans -> dans la commune de décès,
mais parfois on retrouve au archives de Poznan les informations concernant des soldats tués en 1914/1918.
