Hi,

I am trying to help my friend Hanna to find her roots and family in Poland. She would like to reconnect with family members. She lives in Belgium for a very long time now. Hanna Was born on October 2 1965 in Poznan.

She has been adopted as a baby by an older Polish couple (the Hauser couple, both dead a long time ago) but she knows the name of her biological mother: Alina Krystyna Baldyga, born 27 Jan 1946 in Wegrow.

Alina's parents were Piotr Baldyga and Zofia Felicja Ruszkowska. That's the only information she has at the moment. She is not sure who her father was, on her birth certificate we can read "Roman Baldyga" but no other information on him ( not sure it is true or not).

Any idea of how I could find more informations about her family whereabouts in Poland? Is Alina Krystina Baldyga still alive? Are there any cousins of Alina, some siblings of her mother, siblings for Hanna etc ?

I appreciate any kind of help to locate Hanna's family, I do not speak Polish but I speak French and English. I am happy to help with research on French/Belgian/British platforms in return for some help in this research .

As a daughter, Hanna can write to the Registry Office in Węgrów and ask if Alina Krystyna Bałdyga's birth certificate contains an annotation about marriage or death. This must be sent by mail with a signature. It should also describe what is written here.

I will tell her to do that. I am also interested in doing her genealogy and find out informations about her grandparents but not easy if we don't know where they lived etc.

The birth certificate (not a copy) of Alina Krystyna Bałdyga from 1946 should contain the years of her parents. Who gives the fact of birth (sometimes the grandfather is given) and the important names of the godparents - it is often the family.
