Hello everybody!

In the wedding act of my ancestor Jean Langgotche in Walschbronn (Moselle, France) in 1804, he is said born in "Bozen" in Poland, son of Jean Langgotche and Marie Anne Vagetzko (the names had been written in a french way).

I tried to look for his baptism act on the archives from Poznan on www.szukajwarchiwach.gov.pl (Bozen was the german name of Poznan), he should be born between 1760-1780 but I don't find any people called Langocz/Langucz or any other variants of the name.

Do you know if there are other polish places called Bozen, or something equivalent ?

Thank you for your help!
Regards
Tristan Bodez

Thank you for the informations!

I am not sure of the way to write the name, could it be also Łęgosz/Łęgoć/Łęgocz ? In the data base of https://geneteka.genealodzy.pl, we can find some people with this name.

Hello!
I thought Langgotche was not a common name, but finally a lot of people can be found with the name Langocz/Lankoc/Lengocz/Łęgosz/Łęgoć/Łęgocz in the data base of this web site.
But my research is not successful for the moment.

Just for my information, do you know what this name could mean ? Is it related to a place, or a job or surname ?
