I'm trying to track down the birth certificate and place of birth for my father, Stanislaw Guzowski. He was born in Poland (not sure of the exact area) on 4 June 1913, and died in the UK in 1969. His father was Wladislaw Guzowski. He also had a brother named Ludwik.

I would be grateful for any help/advice.

Do you know in which voivodship he was born? This information would be very helpful.

Unfortunately not. My late mother said he was from Krakow, but I am not 100% certain.

I'm afraid I don't have any details about Stanislaw's mother.

He was married in UK or in Poland? It's difficult to find him, we have not many information about him.

Anyway, ask someone who had known Stanisław (maybe his old friend or your aunt?). I know, he was born nearly 100 years ago, but someone can remember something important.

He was married in Watford, UK in 1959 (before he met my mother).

Unfortunately there is no-one here in the UK that I can ask about him. Thank you anyway for trying to help.

Wait... In 1913 Poland wasn't independent. Do you know in which country Stanisław was born (Austria-Hungary, Russia, Germany)?

I believe in Krakow, which back then was in the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

I found marriage of Władysław Guziński and Stanisława Kołos in 1907, so 6 years before Stanisław was born. They're his parents! I see, that Władysław had three wifes:

1. Anna Kostuch (1892)

2. Petronella Skimina (1894)

3. Stanisława Kołos (1907)

Stanisław was born in 1913. Here is his family:

Parents: Władysław Guziński+Stanisława Kołos

Grandparents: Kazimierz Guziński+Wiktoria Niewolska and Ignacy Kołos+Marianna Dudek

They lived in Brzezie (10 kilometres away from Kraków)
