I am looking to find my Skrzynski family. My mom's grandfather Jan was born June 6, 1880 in Gorka Poland to Michael Skrzynski and Margaret Drabik. Jan came to Chicago in 1907. Also they had a son Jacob born July 13, 1885 and he settled in PA. They had 2 other sons Piotr and Marcain who stayed in Poland. Anyone with information please email me at Frankgiamb@aol.com

Dear Frank,
Welcome to your family old country Poland.
The problem is that there are 211 places in Poland named GORKA, all you can see with the very detailed map of Poland: http://mapa.szukacz.pl/ typing in "Miejscowosc" - the town your name Gorka.
So, many of them were located in the 19th century under the rules of Russia, Prussia - Germany, and Austria-Hungary Empire in the province named Galicia.
The research with all of them are unreasonable.
Only very deep research made by Polish researchers with all this places with Polish surname census (www.herby.com.pl) and with Poland phone directories may give you the right place, together with the information if the family Skrzynski and/or Drabik still survive living and farming on the same place.
The next problem is if they could recall so long time, but who knows...
All is possible, as many families in Poland are living and farming on the same beloved homeland of the ancestors immigrated to the US almost 100 years ago.
If you have any more, please share.
Good luck in uncovering the past of your family.
All is in your blood, and genes.
Tad
