Trojanowska, Kantorski --help with Polish roots.

Post autor: soaringsoftly »

Seeking anyone who might have more information on the Polish roots of my great-grandfather, Joseph Anton Trojanowski who was born about 1812 in Poland (Pommern?). He had children Anna (born around 1842 and she was living in Sokolowo, Dulsk Parish in September 1864 where she gave birth to a daughter Wladyslawa) and later perhaps lived Dobrzyn, Plock); Julius (born May 18, 1853); Boleslaw (date of birth unknown) ; and Anton (born January 13, 1851). The family was Catholic. I'm sorry but this is all I know.

Information you are looking for can be found in National Archive in Plock (www.archiwum.plock.com). This website is available in English, there is a search engine - you can find there names and places you mentioned. If needed, you can ask for a search query of your ancestors.
At http://www.jwdupon.net/genealogy/polish.html, I found Anna Trojanowska, whose date of birth would probably match the date you mentioned. She was born 22.04.1840 in Ligowko, she was Jozef Trojanowski's and Anna Kesicka's daughter. Jozef was born in 1815, Maluszyn, Gojsk and Anna Kesicka was born in 1812, Ligowko. Her sisters were: Teofila Trojanowska (born 20.11.1837, Ligowko) and Franciszka Trojanowska (born 08.03.1842, Ligowko). Anna Trojanowska's grandparents were Jan Trojanowski (born in 1784) and Elzbieta Sulkowska (born in 1783). They got married 10.01.1807 in Ligowko. Jozef Trojanowski, Anna's father, had a brother Marceli, who was born in 1809, Sudragi, Ligowo, and died 20.08.1852 in Rumunki Turski, Tluchowo. Marceli got married with Karolina Kotarska on 02.11.1841 in Turza Wilcza, Tluchowo, they had one daughter - Jozefa Trojanowska.
Perhaps they are the people you are looking for, however, you can find some more information in the Archive in Plock.
At www.jwdupon.net there are many people named Trojanowski and also three people whose surname was Kantorski: Franciszek, Wladyslaw and Jan. You can find them all in "Surnames" tab.
Greetings,
Barbara

One of my great-aunt's, Mary Przelenski(1880-1929) married a Antoni Trojanowski(1872-??) before 1904. I found several census records for Antoni, the last in 1940. After looking some more, I found a ship record of Antoni Trojanowski in 1899 that says he was headed to South Bend, Indiana to meet up with his brother Josef Trojanowski who lived at 491 South Walnut St. Says Antoni last residence was Rucburg? The 1900 census lists a Joseph Trojanowski, born 1868, and his wife Pelagia, 5/24/1876-5/1969, their 2 children Bronislawa(2) and Ladislaus(1), and a brother named Antoni, age 28, who arrived in 1899. Joseph arrived in 1891 according to the census. Not sure if that helps.
John

Edit: On the 1920 census, Joseph and his wife Pelagia/Blanche had 6 children, Bronislawa, Ladislaus, Eliziencz born 1903, Mary born 1905, Felix born 1908, and Stanley born 1919. The only odd thing is Mary being born in Poland, and all the other children being born in Indiana USA. Not sure if these are your relatives.
