I think my grandmother's family was from the Lipno area. I have seen Jasien (or something that looks like that) on immigration records. She was born 13 Nov. 1883 to Barthol and Louise (nee Bonkowski) Richert. At least that is what is on her marriage certificate. She had many siblings including Florence, Julius, Friederick, Ottlie, Otto, Rudolf and Alwine. After Barthol dies, probably in about 1895, Louise remarried Jan Rossel (?) and had at least one daughter, Olga.

Any help in location the origins of the family or the church records would be greatly appreciated. The family was probably Lutheran and owned their own farm.

Thank you,
Wynn

Hi Wynn,
if you have a Mormon Family History Center in your area, you can rent microfilmed records and view them at the Center. The records are available for the Lipno Lutheran church for 1808-1906

Hope this helps.

Although it may not assist you in the short term, be aware that an initiative has been started via this Genealodzy forum seeking volunteers to start scanning and indexing archive records for the Kujawy-Pomorze administrative district (in which Lipno finds itself) - http://genealodzy.pl/index.php?name=PNp ... 490#222490 Hopefully you will start seeing the output of their efforts in the Genetyka database within the coming year.
Also, although it is highly likely that they were Lutheran, I would suggest that you don’t restrict yourself to examining just the Lutheran church records for Lipno. The Roman Catholic records for Lipno cover the period 1756-1886. Also, the much closer RC parish of Tlochowo records cover the period 1788-1886.
Good luck

Hi Wynn,

I want to join so invaluable help you received from our forum friends from the U.S. and Australia, here are two more points, for your Family History and Heritage Book:

1. Yes, the important for you and all yours in future is the poiting on the map of Europe the right location of the family home and origin, worth to be noted they are few Lipno and Jasien in Poland, thus, this is the view from our Angels' view with your family origin Jasien, showing the local lands, woods, etc.:
http://wikimapia.org/#lang=pl&lat=52.74 ... 6&z=15&m=h
If you like this wonderful game of imagination, here is the same map with the road [numbered now as 559] from the Jasien home to your family holy church in Lipno, where all your ancestors where baptized, married, and burried in the local cemetery, you have zoom + and - to see more places:
http://wikimapia.org/#lang=pl&lat=52.75 ... 5&z=11&m=h

2. Here is the image of your family ancestral church in the town of Lipno, please click on the small image, you have also the address, maybe you would like to contact this Evangelical church in the present-day Poland:
http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parafia_Ew ... a_w_Lipnie
The priest parson is ks. Michał Walukiewicz.

With the best good luck in your invaluable search, please tell us in future the results...
