Can I find the place (house) they where living?

Hi.

Sorry - I'm back

Now I have to find out if we can find the place where my grandfather where born and where they where living.

It's in Gorajce near Zamosc - Lublin. Might be Gorajec-Stara Wieś today.

Are there a kind of census where they have people listed?

I don't think it's a good idea to repost all again.

By place you mean the exact house or just current name of the village?

Looks like it was part of Ordynacja Zamojskich.

But most of the documents were destroyed by Germans during WWII.

Stara Wieś means old village but it's not a proof.

In some birth records from 1. half 19 century you can find no of the house. But this will not give give you exact locaton on current maps.
In theory it should exist some kind if census of all inhibitants of the village eg KLS (Księgi Ludności Stałej)

This should include your village.

There is a chance that the answer is quite easy for local people or is to be found in local real estate or notary documents.
You can try and ask in the local archive in Zamość.
