Przespolew Pański records Przylenski [ Przyłęcki ]

Post autor: jstarkey »

Hello,
I have traced the family of name of Przylenski to Przespolew Pański, but no scans seem to be online. The mystery of why some of the family went by Scherwinski has been solved to a point: Przyłęcki sounded like Scherwinski, and eventually was spelled Przylenski and Schewinski in different parts of my family between 1880-1915. Are the records from Przespolew Pański from Wielkopolskie due to be scanned? I believe I found the records from there I need for 2 brothers, but there are no scans to verify. Thanks
John

Hello,

Only a few of Przespolew records are on-line - Kalisz archive.
http://szukajwarchiwach.pl/11/740/0/str ... bJednostki

I randomly looked through and found the birth of Wiktoria Przyłęcka #109 - born on 10. Dec. 1887, daughter of Jan Przyłęcki aged 29 and Antonina Michalska aged 29 from Marcjanów.

In 1886 - Anna Przyłęcka # 59 born on 24. July 1886, of unmarried Marianna Przyłęcka aged 20 from Nowy Świat. The birth was announced by Wiktoria Przyłęcka aged 60. Adnotation on the margin stated that in 1954 the name of the father, Antoni, was added to the records.

All the best

Nika

Thank you Nika
I know they arrived in the US before 1882, Jan Przylenski and his wife Anna Sonnenfeld. Anna's mother Henrietta(1836-1911) and her brothers Michael and Carl also arrived by 1882. I've found records for Carl and Michael, but none for Anna's birth or getting married around 1879-1880, and having 1 daughter in Poland, Mary, before they made the journey to the US.
The Przylecki's I found were Jan in 1857 and Franciszek in 1861 in Przespolew Pański, and that would be very close to matching the 2 brothers John(1856-1935) and Frank Przylenski(1862-1904) ages. Their parents were listed as Michael and Maryanna on their death certificates. The only other lead I found was a woman named Catherine Szczepanski(1849-1924), and on her death certificate in Wheeling, WV, it listed John Przelenski as the witness, and her maiden name as Przylenski, and her fathers name as Jan. Eventually I'll have to goto WVU in Morgantown WV, they have all the county records for naturalization. On the 1900 census, almost all that I've traced in Wheeling put down 1890 as their date for naturalization for citizenship. Hopefully that will name a town of origin and date of arrival in 1881.
Thanks again.
John
