My great-grandfather, Franciszek Wojciechowski, was born in 1875 in a village called Osieczyzna. I cannot find this village on any maps. I believe it's around the Chorzele area. Does anyone know anything about this place?

There is a village Krzynowłoga Wielka near Chorzele. The "Geographical Dictionary of the Kingdom of Poland" says there is a "gmina" (community) there, and it comprsises, among others, Osieczyzna. Unfortunately, I can't find Osieczyzna on Google maps. Maybe Polish topographic maps would be better.

Hi Margie. I see you made progress.
Here is the link to the official index of cities, villages and settlements in Poland kept by the government:

Osieczyzna does not occur in it, so it probably either does not exist any more or was absorbed by some other neighboring village - perhaps by Krzynowłoga, if bazie above is right.

I think that Osieczyzna now doesn't exist - probably it was connected to another village and now is street

I hope I am right

Here's the link to the "Geographical Dictionary of the Kingdom of Poland", page about Krzynowłoga Mała and Krzynowłoga Wielka. On the next page, within the fragment about gmina Krzynowłoga Wielka (this gmina does not exist any longer), Osieczyzna is mentioned. It seems it might have been "swallowed" by some other village.

I think the village still exists, I found it on the topographic map of Poland (1:100000 scale).
BTW. It's interesting, but searching the Dictionary does not find the description given above.

Ms Małgorzata Kulwieć above passed a message that you might find interesting.
According to her the second link in her post points to a map on which you may locate Osieczyzna in the square with coordinates 98/93.
