Ancestor from Greiffenberg - searching for matrika

Hello, I am from Czech Republic and I do not speak Polish, so excuse me if I write to wrong forum.

My great-great-grandmother (and her sister too) was born in Greiffenberg (Gryfow-Slaski) in Poland in 1883. I would like to ask if you could help me how to find the scan from birth registry/matrika of her record... if it is possible. I found that this matrika is stored in "Archiwum Archidiecezjalne i Biblioteka Kapitulna we Wrocławiu".

Archiwum Archidiecezjalne i Biblioteka Kapitulna we Wrocławiu is a church archive and these are usually, well, uneager to cooperate with potential users. But you can try of course.

Thank you for your answer. This seems to be civil register and I believe she was katolisch religion. At least, it is written near the marriage record of her sister: http://matriky.soalitomerice.cz/matriky ... 1&scan=181 (the first one - Schneider Emilie)

However, I will try to contact them.

The civil register in case of Prussia / Germany should cover all faiths including RC.

języki się zmieniają i być może, niektóre słowa nabieraja innego znaczenia. Ale kilka już razy natrafiłem na Forum na wyraz 'confession'. Jak dotąd, w angielskim odpowiednikiem 'wyznania' religijnego były słowa 'faith', 'creed', 'denomination'.
'Confession' - jedynie w znaczeniu przyznania się do czegoś, albo wyznania winy, etc.

Dobry wieczór,

Chciałabym zauważyć, że confession (i polska konfesja) występuje, oprócz spowiedzi, przyznawania się do winy oraz wyznawania wiary (jak w Augsburg Confession - synonim do creed), również w znaczeniu religii (wyznania/denominacji). Przykład ze słownika oksfordzkiego: leading figures from every Christian confession.

In matrikas in Czech republic, it is called "religion". And some people gave up their religion and only these ones are written in the civil registers.

On the other side, I haven't got any answer from them yet. Maybe, it will take more time but I'm afraid I will not get this registry record and I'll be lost

This is very different situation. Czech was a part of Austro-Hungary and the registration was religious. Prussia introduced modern civil registration system for all citizens.
The church registration was paralel. It is like in modern times.

Dzięki za uwagę w sprawie słowa 'confession'. Dla nas, wychowanych w języku polskim, obce języki pełne są pułapek, jeśli chcemy je logicznie rozgryźć. Istotnie, w angielskim przyjął sie skrót myślowy, jak np. 'Presbyterian Confession', zamiast 'Presbyterian Confession of Faith'. Anglik przełknie ten zwrot odruchowo; my natomiast wyłapujemy jego nieścisłość semantyczną.

Birth certificates from 1883 are kept in National Archive in Jelenia Góra (Archiwum Państwowe w Jeleniej Górze).

I still have got no answer from them. I guess there is no other chance to get the record
