Help/Advice on using Archive Research Facilities

I am hoping someone has done this before a therefore can help me.

I managed to get someone to translate a query about my wife Polish ancestors and sent this to the Opole Archives. I put their reply into an on-line translator and their reply essentially says they have the records covering the period I am interested in (which is fantastic) and say I can visit and research for free (which is not practical as I live in the UK) or they can do searches for me.

The searches have an hourly rate, but I am not sure how this works. Obviously I don’t want to say to them to search indefinitely and end up with a huge bill. Can I pay in advance for a certain number of hours, or does the system work in a different way? Any help/advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

I could inquire with the Opole Archive directly, but this would require another translation to Polish and translation of their reply back, and things could easily get confused/lost in translation!

For reference, the queries I have are:

Birth Search

“Can I please ask you to look for the births of Pawel, Peter and Bronislawa Poloczek. They were born in Zawadzki, we think sometime between 1895 and 1905. Their parents are Constanin (Konstantin) Poloczek (Polotzek)and Florentina (Florentine) Ziaja. Their sister Hedwig Poloczek was born in Zawadzki on 28 Oct 1899.”

Marriage search

“Can I please also ask you to search for the marriage of Pawel Poloczek. He married a Maria sometime between 1912 and 1920. Known children are Marta (eldest), Lucia and Zigfried (youngest)”
