Hi everybody,
I direct my question to every genealogist in Germany. I am looking for some information about archives and information resources in Germany.

My greatgreatgrandpa during the I WW left his family in Poland and went to Germany. I don't know exactly when was it or where he went. Probably he was working as a bricklayer and he had an accident at work. He died. Nobody knows where he died and where his grave is.

So my question is: are there any information sources, any archives, webpages, lists of workers or accidents where I can find my greatgreatgrandpa or ask for help? Of course I've already checked some pages like familysearch.

Dear Gosia,

This will be very difficult.

There are only archives at country level. The place of residence is required. Lists of workers can exist in companies. But the name of the company is required. In the Civil registry offices is the place of death and the death date required.

Country archives and Civil registry offices are organized as in Poland.

Thank you for information Ursula. I haven't got many details about my grandpa because people who knew him have already died or they were too young to remember. I think I have to do some more research here in Poland.
