Hello!

My ancestors with surname Дылевский (probably Dylewski) lived in Mir ( https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mir_(osie ... iejskiego))

After the 1795 year, this city is into Russia. And I used "ревизские сказки" (listy kontrolne?) to know about people in this city, and found out, that Lavrentiy Dylewsky was born in 1760 and had 5 sons (here is profile https://www.geni.com/people/%D0%9B%D0%B ... 6227096681 )

My question is - are some documents about Mir before 1795 which is useful for me and contain surname and other data about person?

I used this search - http://www.geneszukacz.genealodzy.pl/in ... =pol&op=se

And found out a lot of Dylewski but I have no idea about "Tereny" for Mir.

I also used this service:

http://www.szukajwarchiwach.pl/search?q=mir

And found a lot of documents about Mir, but it's not about usual person.

Could you please help me with that search? What kind of documents exist before 1795? Where should I search it?

Best regards,
Anton

At least in the 19th century, they were Orthodox, but I think it's impossible in 18the century, right?

Thanks for the link, I'll check. The date 1760 looks too rounded, I'll see another one.

Orthodox ? That changes everything. Of course it was possible in 18th century. You can check catholic metrical books but I don`t think you will find your family.
First orthodox church in Mir was established in 1550. 1705-1824 it was a greek catholic church and after 1824 orthodox church.

Chyba raczej Dominik Rochbarski i Marianna Wasilewiczanka.
W każdym razie tak to odczytuję.

I was wrong, they were catholic, according document of 1816 year. Also date 1760 is just hypothesis, it's based on birthday of his sons Gregory ~1783, Iliya ~1789, Ivan ~1795, Iosif ~1800 and Frantishka ~1808.
