Hello,

I've found a bunch of records here and am so excited about them. Does anyone know of a translation service where I could send the records to be translated? I feel guilty asking for them one by one and I have 12-15

Also, I have the suspicion that my great grandfather, from Lazy, may have been Jewish. I would love to find more information about his family. Any suggestions on where to look or find vital records from the 1870s?

It's Lazy in the Ploniawy parish in Mazowieckie. I've found many records for his wife's family, who was definitely Catholic, but nothing for his family. His naturalization papers in the US noted Hebrew as the race, which I always thought was a mistake because they were married in a church in the US and their children were all baptised Catholic, but I'm starting to wonder if it wasn't a mistake.

My great grandfather was Felyx Zuchowski, b 18 December 1873 in Lazy, Mazowieckie. His wife was Krystyna Jakubiak b 24 July 1882. I have a lot of information about her and her family from this site, but nothing comes up for any of the Zuchowski family I know of. Felyx's parents were Wincenty Zuchowski and Marianna Szablewska. I believe Felyx had a brother, Wladislaw born 14 November 1877 and a possible half-brother, Teofil, born 30 January 1895. He may have had a different mother but I'm not sure of that.
I've searched every province on this site but can't find anything about the Zuchowskis. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Caroline, diacritics matter a lot here. First, his given name is spelt Feliks in Polish. The surname may really be Zuchowski, but are you sure it is not Żuchowski?

I guess you got the start-up information from US documents. The guys in the Immigration did not care about the diacritics. So?

Monika, thank you!!!! I've been searching forever for that. I thought Ploniawy was only the parish, but it's the town, yes? And so much for my Jewish theory.
I can't find an index for that film. Do you have to go through it manually?
