Hi fitnessguybill
Thanks for sharing last winter with us your wonderful family memento. Yes, we can see your grandparents Petronela and John-Jan on this beatiful picture, but we cannot help you for today, as you must find with the US databases their EXACT place of birth/origin in old Poland (as Russia, Prussia-Germany, and Austria-Hungary empires in the 19th century till WWI time). The reason is that all genealogical databases in Poland/Europe are basing on the exact parish/parish books location. Try to find this place with for eg with their naturalization papers (the Petition is the best one, as every immigrant was obliged to state his/her place of birth). The other sources are SS-5, obituary docs, their ancestral church records in the US after immigration. Also try to use very carefully EIDB - Ellis Island open database as on every ship manigest the LPR-Last Place of Residence in Europe, and/or POB-Place of Birth is given (to see EIDB you must be registrated, but it's free and easy), the EIDB search engine is:
http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/eidb/ellis.html
For eg with Pulczynski you have Petronella Pulczynski!!:
http://www.ellisisland.org/search/passR ... 1053150074
This EIDB record is given her origin as "Nissawa, Hungary". She was young 20 y old, and immigrated in 1912 (very close to your 1910). She is your?
And if yes, I can tell you sensational info: my Polish eyes see her origin "Nissawa" on this ship manifest as Nieszawa! - and this could mean the small town of Nieszawa located in present Poland!
Check also very carefully other Pulczynski/Pulczynska (suffux -ska for for all Polish female), and all Kupczyk's. Maybe some records would be of yours. Then, you can start full search in this part of Europe.
Good luck! - Powodzenia!
