Hi,

I am looking for the parents and grandparents of Jozef Dukacz and Anna Sopel, they married around 1920 in Łukawiec and had three daughters before emigrating to Canada in 1928, Katarzyna, Rozalia and Zofia. They are both born around 1900.

Jozef had an uncle Stanislaw Sopel who emigrated to Canada before him. Anna had a brother Jędrzej Sopel who stayed in Poland. This info is from the passengers records of the boats.

I assume Anna is Roman Catholic, Jozef is probably Roman Catholic but he could be Greek Catholic from the Bihale parish.

It sounds like you're looking for the Lukawiec in Lubaczow parish. I took a quick look in geneteka here and szukajwarchiwach, and I think the dates you're interested in are too recent to be online (someone here will correct me if I'm wrong). Your best bet is to contact the National Archive in Przemysl with a request for the marriage record of Jozef Dukacz and Anna Sopel, it'll probably include the bride and groom's age, birthplace and the names of their parents.

Thank you for the reply. You are correct, the online scans go as far as 1865 for baptism and 1871 for marriages. There are a lot of Dukacz and Sopel in both the Łukawiec and Bihale parish, one of them are definitely the grandparents but without the marriage act it's impossible to confirm which ones are the right couples.

I reached out to the archive in Przemyśl over a month ago but I haven't heard from them apart for their automatic reply. I don't know that they have the record, the parish has a copy and the other copy would be at the civil registration office in Wielkie Oczy. The Bihale Greek Catholic parish is closed so all these record would be in Wielkie Oczy as well.

I guess what I'm looking for is for someone who has an index of the record or a local genealogist who I could hire.
