It seems that the usual method is to visit. However I can't do that, so I have sent an email requesting some information. I may have to pay and that is ok. I just hope they reply.

For anyone following this thread, I had a reply back from Dusseldorf stadtarchive. They will search for my questions and when they have an answer, they send me a bill- minimum 25 Euros. When I pay, they send the info to me.
