Thank you for contacting FamilySearch regarding the recent additions to existing Polish collections. You listed the collections that had recently been updated, and asked how it would be possible to know exactly what was added; i.e., what parishes, periods, etc.
We went to the collection results page for Poland and noted the asterisks by the three collections you mentioned, which indicated that they, indeed, had been updated recently. (...)
Images are photographs of original documents such as church books, from which a transcriber receives the information that is made into an indexed record. However, the process of attaching the corresponding image of a document to an indexed record has not yet been accomplished for all indexed records. Therefore some collections are comprised of images that can be viewed only by browsing through the collection. These have no indexed records, as yet. Other collections have indexed records, but for a variety of reasons, do not have corresponding images that are available to view. The article was an announcement that the list it shows are the most recently updated collections, and the answer is “Yes, these have had the additions as previously announced.” For instance, the collection “Poland, Radom Roman Catholic Church Books, 1587–1966,” now has 240,983 more images (photos of documents) in that collection. Therefore, those indexed records that previously were without corresponding images now haveimages attached to them.
Also, in the collection, “Poland, Lublin Roman Catholic Church Books, 1784–1964” 75,529 more indexed records
have been added.
